Introduction:
Positive Voice (PV) is a
non Governmental Organization registered in a District office of
Lalitpur, affiliated with Social welfare counsel Kathmandu and also a
partner organization of Recovering Nepal. It aims to improve the quality
of lives of those people who use drugs and/or living with HIV/AIDS
through Prevention, Care and Awareness programs and also reinstate their
rights through Advocacy. Positive Voice also utilizes mass media mainly
a website to providing information's to people who use drugs and/or are
living with HCV and HIV, a first hand information on the issues that
matters.
Positive Voice (PV) was established by a group of
people who use drugs and people living with HIV, with empathy towards
issues faced and felt that it is their responsibility to make changes
for the betterment of the young generation from the negative
consequences of illicit drug use and at the same time advocating and
lobbing for rights based, evidence based treatment services, seeking
greater involvement in every level that concerns the lives of people who
use drugs.
Vision:
A right to highest
attainable standard of health is secured for everyone despite of illicit
status of drug use with emphasis on health and human rights or people
using drugs and/or living with HIV and HCV.
Mission Statement:
Committed towards
improving the quality of lives of those people who use drugs and/or
living with HIV/AIDS and reinstating their rights to live a life with
dignity.
Goal:
By 2015, Ensure that every people those
who use drugs and living with HIV and AIDS in Nepal
Have universal access to Antiretroviral Therapy and Harm Reduction
Services.
Are able to live in an open society without a fear of stigma and
discrimination caused by the illicit status of drug use.
Activities:

advocate, lobby and facilitate the contextual incorporation of
ART with OST |

To
provide outreach and home based care to those people who use
drugs, living with HIV/AIDS, and their families |

To
organize awareness programs specially among youth and those at
risk |

To
organize Treatment Advocacy and Treatment Literacy /Preparedness
Training for those people who use drugs, living with HIV/AIDS
and their caretakers |

To
provide psychosocial counseling and support for those people who
use drugs, infected and affected by HIV/AIDS |

|
To
develop skills and provide income generating opportunities to
those people who use drugs, living with and affected by HIV/AIDS |
|
|
To
advocate and lobby policy makers, law makers and donors agencies
for programs and Policies that directly benefit to those people
who use drugs & living with HIV/AIDS. |

|
To
work closely with the existing "Network of People who use Drugs"
and Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS" to jointly make
an impact towards forming a favorable national polices and
strategies. |
