AWARENESS PROGRAM ON
DRUGS AND HIV/AIDS

 PV organized an
awareness program on drugs and HIV/AIDS together with its members of
branch office, Baghdole, LP. Sessions were conducted in a friendly
atmosphere of Christian community with a participation of all age
categories of people- children, youths, and adults.
Drug addiction and HIV/AIDS are major social problems in urban areas of
Nepal. Even when numbers of measures have been
taken by the
Government
together with non-Governmental bodies, the number of drug users and the
people living with HIV/AIDS are on increase. The result expected to be
generated from all these actions and initiations is not up to the mark,
however, it doesn’t mean there is no impact of these attempts, there is
still much more to do. Awareness in individual, family and society can
curb these both problems to far extent. Awareness program is a root
basis to reach community of people who are under prevalence. Taking this
into consideration, PV added one more step in this war against
burgeoning drug culture and epidemic of HIV AIDS.
